This is a write up that will open your heart to becoming more determined as a woman, as they use to say," Women education ends in the kitchen", these women proved them wrong. Since inception, President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration has been accused of impunity, usually caused by decisions and actions of the President, including those of his ministers and close associates. Most of the glaring cases of abuse of power including reckless spending of taxpayers’ money have been carried out by the women in Jonathan’s cabinet. These women have proven to be more powerful than the number one citizen of Nigeria because despite public outcries that greet some of their decisions, they go scot-free. Those who fall in this seemingly untouchable category are the First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan; the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke; the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ms. Arunma Oteh; and the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah. These powerful women have some things in common. They are all from the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones. Four of them had their higher education in the United States and two of them are daughters of traditional rulers. BURSTED; Fake NYSC Members Arrested In Abuja

While wishing them welcome to the favour market, little did we know that, they were other set of people impersonating as passing out corp members. Seventeen fake members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). They were picked up at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Kubwa, Abuja, on Thursday evening while they were posing and taking pictures outside the camp during the passing-out ceremony. In a statement made available, the commission said its operatives stormed the camp based on intelligence reports and arrested the suspects comprising eight females and nine males. It said preliminary investigation revealed that 15 of the suspects claimed to have enrolled in degree courses run by consultancy services in the University of Calabar (6), University of Jos (6), Ebonyi State University (1), Federal University of Technology, Owerri (1) and Crown Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti (1). One of the fake corps members, the commission noted, never attended any university, but said she was desirous of getting a discharge certificate. Another suspect, a young man, impersonated his sister, a genuine corps member who was receiving medical treatment abroad, in order to collect her discharge certificate.

Nigeria’s Embassy A*tacked By A*med Men In G’Bissau

Is like these other small Africa nations with small population not even close to the population of a State in Nigeria now acting in a funny way, and taking us for a ride? A group a*med, on Tuesday attacked the Nigerian embassy in Bissau, capital of Guinea-Bissau, a country of about 1.7 million people. The reason for the action is not yet known. The event is happening just as the country is preparing for its general elections slated for next month. Guinea-Bissau currently has an Interim President, Manuel Serifo Nhamadjo, who emerged in May 2012 to head a transitional government following the sacking of the country’s democratically-elected government by a military coup. According to OUR SOURCE, a*med personnel and militias stormed the Nigerian embassy in a commando style, attacking everyone in sight and eventually causing the closure of the Nigerian sovereign outpost.

Four(4) University Guards Arraigned Before Court For Alleged Negligence Of Duty

What ever worth doing, is worth doing well, this wasnt the case of four security men. The police arraigned four security men before an Abuja Senior Magistrates’ Court for alleged negligence of duty, which resulted in the theft of 26 cows. Those arraigned included Abdullahi Lawal, 28; Suleiman Isah, 35; Aliyu Mohammed, 25 and Mohammed, 22, who are security guards with the Nigeria Turkish Nile University, Abuja. The police prosecutor, Philips Apollos, told the court that the accused persons were assigned by the management to take care of 138 cows in the school premises. Apollos said the guards abandoned their duty post, thereby allowing unknown persons to enter the premises to steal 26 of the cows. “The thieves broke through the school fence and stole 26 cows valued at N2.1m,” Apollos said. wahala dey!!!

Tallest Hotel Building In West Africa Finally Unveil By Lagos State Governor

The building was indeed great and record breaking. Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, yesterday, unveiled the N30 billion tallest hotel in West Africa, the Intercontinental Lagos. The hotel located at Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, is a 23-storey building with 358 rooms, 37 suites and a presidential suite. The Intercontinental Lagos, a subsidiary of the Intercontinental Hotel Group, IHG, is owned by the Milan Group. Fashola said the new hotel showed that the economy of the country was witnessing growth daily but without corresponding employment. According to him, “The new sector is the tourism sector. This is the only virgin sector in the country, and it will help address the challenges of unemployment in the country.” The governor noted that the new hotel had helped to create new 650 direct jobs in the state, adding that with the construction of more hotels and hospitality outfits, more direct jobs would be created as well as numerous indirect jobs..

Lagos State Ex-Deputy Governor To Face Trial On Fraud Issue

The case of fraud  on the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu is still on, as the ex-governor will be arraigned by the Special Fraud Unit, SFU, of the Nigeria Police Force before a Federal High Court in Lagos on a three-count charge of conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence and stealing. Sources close to SFU informed OUR CORRESPONDENT that, Ojikutu, who is currently in the United States of America, USA, will be repatriated to Nigeria and arraigned tomorrow. Multiple Crashes On Collapse Bridge K*lling About 23 Persons

This is the EMBER MONTH, we should be more careful and prayerful. There were multiple crashes in Katsina due to a collapse bridge. The first crash involved a bus conveying 24 passengers which plunged into the bridge few minutes after its collapse on Monday night. According to the witness, the bridge collapsed at about 9.30p.m. due to heavy downpour and moments after the bus with registration number XA 328 KZR, conveying passengers from Kano to Katsina, fell into the bridge. The villagers said efforts made to alert the bus driver was to no avail as he was on high speed. The bus and the passengers were swept by the heavy current and some of the d*ad bodies were recovered miles away in Ajiwa area, the villagers and officials told NAN. NAN also gathered that only two of the passengers in the bus, including a student of Federal College of Education, Bichi in Kano state, survived the incident..

Lagos State Government Banned Molue, Commercial Buses From Lagos Island

Months after the ban on Okada, Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola has banned commercial buses widely called Molue from operating on Lagos Island. Effective immediately, Lagos has banned Molue riders from operating on bridges like the 3rd Mainland, Eko & Carter Bridges. Molue operators are no longer allowed to operate in the Central Business District of the state.
